Hey, you made it here! Let us hear from you :-)

  • To learn how to edit this wiki, click on the link "wiki style"

I have a very limited experience with wikis, and the one I have used is VERY unfriendly. This is certainly NOT :-)

Moira

My first time on a wiki and I am so excited to be part of this learning. The learning curve is going up!

It is amazing how many free tools there were out there!

Ángeles :-)))

I have never seen wikis, this is my first time. I wonder how we can use this tool in teaching? How do our moderators and webheads use it? Will you share?

Wow, I feel so glad to have had the chance to try it!!! I've heard so much about it, but never had time to play around, and here I am again discovering a whole brave new world!

A different new site

    • This is a different site from the one we try last year, webcollaborator. Which one would you recommend best? just exploring this new one.

Ilse

Oh.....DAFFODILS! I just wrote a very long message, and re-typed something, switched to look at Wiki style - and that was the end of all I'd written. Surely that's bad design? "If in doubt, save." The button should be labelled - Update/!!!SAVE!!! - that's what I think. :-) Dennis

Dennis, what a beatiful swear word! English will never stop amazing me.

Even more amazed I am at this new tool. I'm sure my students will love it.

But won't some play dumb tricks? I guess there is no way of preventing this. OR?

Agata Lewandowska

Dumb tricks do seem inevitable, but...still worth the chance and I guess it would be up to the moderator or whoever to check up on it .

Thanks, Maria Teresa, for you step by step instructions to create one's own page at Wiki. Lesson learnt. Formatting next class. ;-) Claudia

Great for a kind of cyber-jigsaw project - the students could each research one aspect of a topic then post their results and update each other's postings. I have to think of a way to use this! --Elise

One thing I like about being a Webhead, almost, is that when anyone shares a new technology, the next comment, is hwo it applies to the students, classrooms and courses! We are always thinking ahead.---Cheryl

|Well, and it really works as a collaborative tool. See my case !!!

I couldn't manage my pictures . Many of you helped with hints by several means. And Daf gave me her advice here on the wiki. Chrissan gave another step , "took the bull by the horns" and rezised my photo. GREAT !!!---Susana|

Just thought I'd pop in and say hi! :-)

Susan Marandi @>---;-

Hi BaWers, I totally agree with Carla! It's so great to be able to play around with all our wikis, I never got that far on last year's course!!Hugs from Chrissan

Question for Maria Teresa: I bet, after watching your dedication in this Wiki, that you were appointed Wiki keeper/helper by the BaW 06 executive team, non é vero? Tanti baci e grazie da Berta

Nina's reflections:

This is the short version of my thoughts on BaW-06 (for the long version, see ninas1stblog.blogspot.com):

It has been an incredible experience. Before BaW, I was something of a technophobe, overwhelmed by the myriad possibilities and the rapidly changing technology. Now, I feel less intimidated, more able to strike out and explore. Making online friends has been fun, and as I become more familiar with the technology, I am beginning to think of ways to incorporate it into my teaching. I hope to build on the foundation I have laid with your help and to share what I have learned with my colleagues at the University of Maryland and potentially, with members of our local TESOL affiliate, WATESOL. I am excited about joining the Webheads and hope to stay connected for a long time to come!

Hello everyone, it seems a bit difficult but I will learn! Juliana
